All through the pages of the Bible we can see the anguish of the people who were denied justice and the arrogance of those who deny Justice, and hear the shouts of the oppressors and the cries of the oppressed. Above all, the voice of God reverberates like thunder through the words of the Prophets. We can also see the sad end of the oppressors in the course of the various historical events.
Justice is a quality that God wants to exist in the God-man relationship. The theme Social justice, however, would apparently not convey this depth and breadth of meaning. Nevertheless it should be kept in mind that all relations are social in nature. We believe that even God is a communion of three persons, forming the basic and ultimate model of social relationships. Hence not only the obvious personal relationships in the society but also the relationship with God, others, nature and self would come in the ream of Social Justice. Justice is a quality that must exist in all these fourfold relationships. Hence one could say that Social Justice is a central theme in the Bible. This theme is studied in this book as it unfolds in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
